Bush & Braai

South African hospitality, open fire, cold drink, good company.

There's a South African ritual that doesn't translate easily into any other culture.

The braai is not a barbecue. It's an event. It's a gathering. It takes time. The fire must be built properly. The coals must be right. The conversation must flow. Nobody is in a rush, because the braai itself is the destination.

A Bush and Braai journey weaves South African food culture into the safari itself. You'll cook over an open fire with us, not as a novelty, but as an actual activity that you leave knowing how to do.

What a day looks like

Sundowners in the bush

As the sun drops, we stop the vehicle in an open spot. Cold drinks, Khaya's stories, the sky changing colour. This is not a cliché — it's the point.

Building the fire

Real fire, real technique. We'll show you how the Ndebele and Swati traditions approach fire-making, and why the wood choice matters.

Cooking together

Not a cooking class. A meal. You help prepare it, you eat it together, and you understand food differently.

The night sky

In the Greater Kruger, there is almost no light pollution. After the braai, the sky is extraordinary. We know what you're looking at.
